Just cancel the season. That way DP can claim success with a 2 - 1 record. Brad can extend him for 10 years based on his winning percentage this year and the rest of us can move on and just drop Mason basketball from our minds.

    https://www.espn.com/mens-college-b...-gators-star-keyontae-johnson-collapses-court:

"Florida basketball star Keyontae Johnson collapsed early in the game against rival Florida State and is in critical but stable condition at Tallahassee Memorial, according to the school.

The Gators were coming out of a timeout Saturday when the cameras cut away from the court and ESPNU broadcasters said Johnson had collapsed. He was given emergency medical attention and taken to the locker room.

Before the incident, Johnson had just finished an alley-oop on a pass from Tyree Appleby. He was celebrating with teammates and walking toward the sideline before he collapsed."

"Johnson, a junior forward from Norfolk, Virginia, is averaging 19.7 PPG this season and is considered an NBA prospect.

Johnson is known for his versatility and floor leadership and is considered a leading candidate for SEC Player of the Year. He averaged 14 points on 54% shooting from the floor and 7.1 rebounds as a sophomore.

Like most of his teammates, Johnson tested positive for COVID-19 during the summer. Although the cause of Johnson's ailment was not immediately known, the coronavirus can lead to myocarditis, a viral infection of the heart muscle."

    https://baylorbears.com/news/2020/1...pause-program-activities-due-to-covid-19.aspx:

"WACO, Texas – The Baylor men's basketball program will pause team activities as a result of COVID-19 protocols, head coach Scott Drew announced Saturday.

The No. 2-ranked Bears were scheduled to host No. 13 Texas Sunday and Tarleton State Tuesday at the Ferrell Center. Both games have been postponed and could be rescheduled at a later date. The status of Baylor's Dec. 19 game at Kansas State is to be determined.

'This is a disappointing time for everyone involved with our program, but we will always prioritize the health and safety of our student-athletes,' Drew said. 'The Big 12 Conference prepared for this possibility by leaving the final week of the regular season open, and we look forward to hosting Texas at a later date. Our program will return to competition as soon as we can do so safely.'"

    https://www.espn.com/womens-college...sketball-tournament-one-site-eyes-san-antonio:

"The NCAA plans to stage the entire women's basketball tournament in one geographic area, and San Antonio is the likely host site.

The move, announced Monday, was made to help mitigate the risks of COVID-19 and matches that of the men's tournament, which the NCAA said last month will be played in a single area -- most likely Indianapolis.

The women's Final Four in 2021 was already set for San Antonio, and the NCAA has begun preliminary talks with the Texas city to hold the entire 64-team tournament in the area."

    https://atlantic10.com/news/2020/12...ion-for-covid-expenses-protocols-updated.aspx:

"NEWPORT NEWS, Va. --. The A-10 Presidents Council has approved a $1.4 million supplemental distribution, issuing each member institution $100,000 for expenses incurred by COVID-19 protocols. The additional distribution will be used to offset cost for testing, protected travel procedures, and unbudgeted expenses associated with numerous safety and health protocols implemented to protect the student-athletes, staff and campus community.

'I applaud the CEOs for this decision which is possible due to the excellent financial decisions we have made over the last several years,' stated Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade. 'To mitigate risk and successfully attempt to compete in the COVID-19 environment, A-10 Institutions have committed significant resources to implement safety and health protocols which have real associated cost. Additionally, the attention to student-athlete welfare, mental stress support and managing social anxiety requires financial commitments in varying amounts. '

In conjunction with this decision, the council received an updated report from the league’s COVID-19 Medical Advisory Committee. Protocols for the 2020-21 men’s and women’s basketball season were revised to reflect the changing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and NCAA return to sport resocialization guidelines. This includes the recent shortening of the quarantine period from 14 to 10 days, and seven days with negative testing. Additionally, the suspension of testing following a positive result, which was originally 90 days, could be considered for up to 150 days. In both instances, the individual must remain asymptomatic. A-10 institutions follow the lead of local public health authorities, who determine and establish the quarantine options for their jurisdictions. Conference-wide individual game attestation forms, home arena spacing, sanitization and access protocols were reviewed, and A-10 officiating protocols were noted. Education for league membership regarding testing, positive results, return to play and safety protocols also continues to be a key component of the Atlantic 10 plans."

    https://www.espn.com/mens-college-b...e-suspends-men-basketball-program-rest-season:

"Chicago State is suspending its men's basketball program for the remainder of the 2020-21 season 'to focus on the health, safety, and academic pursuits of the Men's Basketball student-athletes.'

'It was a difficult decision, but a necessary decision in order to prioritize the health, wellness, and academic success of the student-athletes,' athletic director Elliott Charles said Wednesday.

The Cougars will finish 0-9 this season.

Chicago State had several issues related to COVID-19 during the first few weeks of the season. Head coach Lance Irvin stepped away from the team before the season began due to COVID-19 concerns, and the Cougars had to cancel their game against Iowa State on Tuesday due to an insufficient number of available players.

Chicago State played earlier this month against Illinois State with just six players, and it faced Drake this past weekend with just seven available players.

The remaining 14 athletic programs, including women's basketball, will continue as scheduled."
