    https://www.espn.com/college-footba...present-options-possible-return-football-fall:

"The Big Ten medical subcommittee will present new testing programs Saturday to a subcommittee of conference presidents and chancellors, outlining options that weren't available last month when the 2020 season was postponed, conference sources told ESPN."

The Big Ten subcommittee, which is comprised of medical experts and athletic directors, will show eight of the 14 presidents and chancellors at least four rapid response antigen tests now on the market that could allow teams to test daily and significantly decrease the amount of necessary contact tracing."

"If the presidents and chancellors give the green light to return to play, the earliest realistic scenario is still at least a month away, the first source said, which would mean mid-to-late October. It would still depend on how quickly the presidents and chancellors approve the return, along with which test the conference chooses, and how quickly it can have the supplies."

"A Pac-12 source told ESPN on Friday the league is in communication with the Big Ten, but the Pac-12's timeline remains dependent on several factors, including governmental approval to return to campus in California and Oregon. Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott has said he has spoken to Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren with the hopes they could align their return, but conceded it 'may or may not work out.'"

    https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...propose-nov-21-start-date-for-2020-21-season/:

"The women's and men's basketball oversight committees convened again on Friday and decided to change the proposed start date for the 2020-21 season from Nov. 25 up to Nov. 21, sources told CBS Sports. The news was first reported by Stadium's Jeff Goodman.

The two-hour meeting focused in large part around upping the start date to accommodate multi-team events (MTEs), which had been a driving force the past week-plus for reconsidering Nov. 25, a date oversight committees agreed to during their Sept. 1 meeting. "

"The committees also agreed on Friday to reduce the maximum allowable regular-season games for this season. It's normally 31, but now it will be targeted at 28 if a team plays in an MTE, or 26 if it does not. The minimum allowable number of games for postseason consideration is targeted for 13, a number NCAA senior vice president of basketball Dan Gavitt lobbed out as a possibility Thursday on the 'Courtside with Dakich and Greenberg' podcast. The stipulation for 13 games, according to one source, is all 13 games must be against Division I competition.

The committees also will make a recommendation -- but not an outright requirement -- that teams play at least four nonconference games if circumstances reasonably allow for it. This was not a universally agreed to recommendation, but will be part of the proposal nonetheless. The thinking behind this is to encourage every league to seek to play nonconference games in an effort to help with college basketball's metrics and eventual NCAA Tournament selection. A separate source added that powerful programs have been consistently lobbying behind the scenes to allow for as many nonconference games as possible in an effort to normalize the regular season and also provide small schools a chance for more games in an unpredictable schedule climate.

As for crucial COVID-19 testing, the recommended protocol for NCAA Division I basketball is expected to require testing at least three times per week."

"There is no assurance college basketball season can begin in late November, but optimism still runs high throughout the sport that such a goal is achievable, especially as news updates nearly each week with improvements in testing capabilities."

    https://sports.yahoo.com/army-vs-by...d-due-to-covid-19-cases-at-byu-000151537.html:

"BYU announced that its game at Army next Saturday has been postponed due to 'a small number of positive COVID-19 test results and the resulting tracing exposures within the BYU football program.' BYU said the decision was reached mutually with Army and that the schools will attempt to reschedule the game."

"The BYU-Army game is the third game scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 19 to be postponed due to COVID-19 cases. It joins the Virginia vs. Virginia Tech and Memphis vs. Houston games."

If Big Ten presidents/chancellors vote to play football in the fall, then all B1G schools will play, sources told @Stadium. Earlier reports indicated if presidents voted to play, some B1G schools might opt not to play, but that will not be the case, source said

As college basketball braces for Wednesday's announcement on a start date, mid-major programs everywhere are preparing for guarantee games to be taken away. Athletic Departments depend on this revenue.

Sources: While the Basketball Oversight Committee has bumped up its initial proposed start date from 11/25 to 11/21, many of the sport's key decision makers are concerned with opening a season against college football. This could also apply to 11/22 with the NFL.

Here. We. Go. Lots of doubts we’d get here but everything is pointing to there being a season. Super stoked, hope AJ and Javon can go out right.

So how is mason going to do it if they are allowed let’s say 30% capacity. First rights of renewal go by patriot points or something else?

If it's 30% they just have to uncover the corners to make it 10k again. 3k is 75% of our normal crowd. They can fulfill all season ticket holders and restrict the general crowd.

Season ticket holders first. Screw the students and casual fans, they never come anyway. No Cub/Girl Scouts, no youth groups. Hard core, loud fans and drunks, that's it.

As I recall, half of the season tix holders don't show up either. Many of them either write off the cost of their seats or sell them to VCU fans.

In other words, we should have no problem restricting the arena to 2,500-3,000...unfortunately.
