Did the school ever officially acknowledge Bryson Johnson's appointment? It took them the entire season to update the website. I don't remember there ever being a press release from the school.

I saw something on Twitter that looked like it came from the program. At least that was my assumption.

It is coming from Steve Goff who wouldn't tweet something or write something without it being official.

Obviously I thought AJ was underrated on this list, but to give folks an idea for how guard heavy this league is, outside of Osun I think every player in the top 12 was a PG or SG. Can't win in this league without great PG play.

A lot of great A10 content floating around on Twitter today for those of you that Twat about these things.

    https://www.a10talk.com/the-good-bad-and-goals-for-all-14-teams/:

    "George Mason

What I like: Mason is bringing back a lot of dudes, including studs Javon Greene and AJ Wilson, who are now the senior leaders of this team. Josh Oduro looks to build off a strong freshman campaign, as does Xavier Johnson. There’s a good mix of experience and youth, which is what you want in a team. This is the year to get something going if you are Dave Paulsen.

Where it could go wrong: Dave Paulsen has had talent in the past, but has also under-achieved with said talent. Mason has yet to have a really strong season since joining the A10, and this might be the year that they have the best chance at making a big run to a top 6 or even top 4 finish. But, can Paulsen make the right moves to push this team of talented guys over the hump? History says no, which is why the season could go wrong.

Goal: Finish top half of the A10"

Would anyone here consider top half of A10 this season good? Good enough to keep Paulsen?

Nope, he's had long enough. NCAA or time for him to go. 39 - 51 is enough of a test to prove to me he is in over his head.

4th is a lot different than 7th to me..... as it should be to everyone. If we come in 4th they probably give him a 3 year extension knowing our athletic department. If we finish 7th or lower with the second/third oldest roster in the league he needs to be tar and feathered and sent back to Bucknell

Don't know that Bucknell would want him.

Agree 4th is way different than 7th for me too. Most years, 4th place in the A10 places you on the bubble. Make a run in the A10 tournament and you might be able to squeak in. 7th and I’m 110% demanding we fire Paulsen.

OT. I assume you all received what I did today but you never know.

    Update from Mason Athletics

We hope this note finds you and your family safe and healthy as we continue to move forward under a challenging environment within college athletics.
As you know, the Atlantic 10 made the decision to postpone fall competitions and intends to conduct a competitive schedule for those sports in the spring. At this time, the schedule for the winter sports, which includes men’s and women’s basketball, is unchanged.
The Athletics department worked closely with campus leadership and medical experts to develop a comprehensive plan for the student-athletes to return to campus. That plan is one that prioritizes health and safety. On August 10, student-athletes from the men’s and women’s basketball teams began their return to campus, prior to the start of classes on Monday, August 24. Approximately 80% of our student-athletes course work will be completed online this semester.
Unfortunately, given the uncertain nature of the current pandemic, we must prepare for a number of different possible scenarios – including the possibility of not having fans or reduced capacity at our basketball games. As we move toward the start of basketball season, several different seating scenarios and configurations have been modeled with fans inside EagleBank Arena and we will continue to adjust accordingly as more guidance is provided to us from local and state health officials.
This unprecedented season is allowing us new and innovative ways to engage with our fans and supporters. Stay tuned for additional information on opportunities to connect with our Athletic Ticket Office personnel via Zoom meetings. In preparation for you to move forward with us on the upcoming season, we are here to assist you throughout the process. We've added a text messaging service so that you can reach the Athletic Ticket Office any time and get a response in a quick and timely manner. Your dedicated Ticket Office representative remains eager and happy to help, and their contact information is below.
The strength of Mason Nation is in its members. We greatly appreciate your continued support as we navigate complex issues during such unprecedented times. We look forward to staying connected throughout the fall.

Also saw this, happy they are moving forward assuming their will be a season and going down every avenue in the event there will be fans, I fully don’t expect to have fans at games but if given the chance, I’ll certainly renew my tickets.

Maybe having a larger arena that doesn’t come close to capacity is actually a benefit in this situation. We might be able to get most season ticket holders into the games and still remain socially distant!

But in all seriousness, it wouldn’t be THAT hard for us to socially distance in the Pat Dome if they uncovered the corners, assuming our attendance this year went down by the same rate it’s been going last few years.

Place almost doesn’t even matter to me. Anything worse than 10-8 and it’s bye bye (remember, 9-9 got us top half three seasons ago — is it three or two).
