The situation at Fordham makes us look like a new coach is walking into Duke.
Fordham is impressive academically:
Fordham Men’s Basketball
That’s 10 straight years with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher! #STUDENTAthletes
And they have a really good journalism school. But their facilities are absolutely trash and they have sucked since almost before I was born. Count me out as well
What's our team GPA?
Congrats to them I guess?
You know who also has a really high team GPA? our women's basketball team...
Interestingly, the Fordham women's basketball coach has an excellent record including 2 A10 championships.
Whats our mens team GPA?
I couldn’t find that. I know Richmond’s was 3.05. But that’s it from the men’s basketball side that I could see.
Couldn't find? That could be the smoking gun!!
I don't know, but the following players were on the 2019-20 Commissioner's Honor Roll:
Of course, Kier and Mar transferred but Paulsen added some more walk-on players whom I'm guessing are good students.

"Jeff Neubauer was finally given his walking papers on Tuesday, and let’s be honest: If not for the pandemic, it would have happened last March.
Now Fordham joins Wichita State and Penn State as schools looking for a permanent men’s head coach. There’s still a chance Wichita State AD Darron Boatright hires interim coach Isaac Brown, but it’s far more likely he brings in someone from the outside after jettisoning Gregg Marshall for verbal and physical abuse just days prior to the start of the season. Penn State’s Jim Ferry also took over on an interim basis after Pat Chambers resigned before the season began.
The Fordham program has been irrelevant for a long, long time. The Rams’ last NCAA Tournament appearance was in 1992 under Nick Macarchuk. Bob Hill was abysmal in his four seasons (1999-2003), Dereck Whittenburg was 69-112 in his tenure (2003-2009), Tom Pecora didn’t win more than 10 games in any of his five seasons (2010-2015) and Neubauer was 61-104 in his stint.
New AD Ed Kull will have no shortage of applicants as the Fordham job is attractive because of the large number of mid-major players in the immediate area, and also because the bar has been set so damn low at the school.
Look for the field to include current head coaches such as Shaheen Holloway (St. Peter’s), John Becker (Vermont), Carmen Maciariello (Siena) and Jared Grasso (Bryant), and assistants like Luke Murray (Louisville), Darren Savino (UCLA) and Kimani Young (UConn)."
"• Belmont has won 20 consecutive OVC games, the fifth-longest streak in league history."
Wouldn't Belmont be a nice addition to the A10?
Maybe Paulsen will get the Fordham job. I hear he builds a winning culture. He takes his time to build the team right. Fordham seems like the perfect place to follow the Paulsen 15 years to success plan.
McGlade said Richmond being named the tourney site was largely due to availability and advantage of using two arenas. All proposals, including St. Louis, included provisions for a similar number of fans (from 250 to 300). That is expected to be mainly family of players, coaches.
The A-10 is working on developing guidelines that will be implemented to determine seeding when it comes to teams that played varying numbers of games. Those should be determined by next Thursday.
A-10 commissioner Bernadette McGlade addressed issues related to the conference tournament. Among key topics was determining seedings with differing numbers of games. Teams must play NCAA minimum 13 games to qualify to play in the conference tourney.
