Na no response from Brad, but did speak to a couple folks in the AD below him. Agree though, not being able to sell 200 tickets when we are literally the only game in town right now does not look good....
Think about it -- all the reasons we've said attendance sucked in the past. Other local colleges are playing better and people want to say them -- none of the other colleges in the DC area have fans at their games. Wizards - no fans. Watching games at bars - can't do it. And we still can't sell 200 tickets to our own base? Trouble is on the horizon next season if something doesn't change...
Starting with Brad. It's his job. If I don't get a response from him then I move on to those above him including President Washington.
Understand, I emailed him and Pres Washington first, and unfortunately I did not receive anything and most likely wont'. My email was not that short and to the point so I suspect those get ignored as do most emails at this time. Hopefully youll get a response as you deserve one (as we all do).
I don't think Washington really cares about basketball right now. He has much more important work to do. But, my approach with Washington will be that Brad did not fulfill his professional responsibilities by not responding to my concerns or at least not acknowledging them. That's an entirely different ball of wax than our team sucks. Hey, I have time to spare right now. LOL.
Understand. When I emailed Dr. Cabrera I didn't get a response either back in the day, so I don't think president@gmu.edu is really monitored or whoever reads it just doesn't respond to most inquiries. I tried to find a different email but I haven't been able to.
COVID is the excuse for everything.......it's why Washington has other concerns, why we cant sell tickets, why Paulsen's team sucks this year, why Paulsen wont be fired...blah blah blah.... And it's why Paulsen gets a "freebie" this year.
He’s not just being evaluated on this year so I wish people would stop bringing up COVID. This season is not at all an outlier for Dave’s 6-year tenure; the pandemic is irrelevant and he’s not getting a “freebie” from what’s left of the fan base.
I only bring it up because that's what would be "par for the course" with the University when it comes to athletics. Other than surprisingly joining the A10 (an outlier) there's not much else in the Mason AD's office for the past 10 years and more that shows me an aggressive let's get sh*t done way of operating. For Washington, besides COVID, forming a committee to decide if the use of white copier paper is a micro aggression and offensive to students of color is the priority. Our only other hope is that Mountain Dew gets classified as "code" for white supremacy....or we somehow can Photoshop Paulsen into pics from the riot at the Capitol.
If Covid is the excuse that we get without improvement on the court and why they end up lame ducking/extending Dave, then they are more tone deaf than we think. I highly doubt it will be used as an excuse, because I think those of us who have talked to people and expressed concerns, would have heard that. I honestly didn't hear any excuses. They also can have a good time trying to get people to show up next year when we have home games against Maine, UNCW and Delaware State. (slight exaggeration on the scheduling, but I'm sure everyone gets my point)
Is it bad that a couple days ago I was wishing that there was footage of Dumpster Dave at the Capital last week?
