Saint Louis is pausing all basketball related activities due to COVID-19, per release. Tonight's game against Duquesne is off.

    https://slubillikens.com/news/2020/12/30/mens-basketball-pauses-team-activities.aspx:

"ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis University men's basketball program has paused all team activities due to positive COVID-19 results within the program.

The positive results are from tests administered on Dec. 28. The Atlantic 10 Conference will announce all changes to the Billikens' upcoming A-10 schedule.

Program activities will resume only after all personnel are cleared via the extensive Saint Louis University campus COVID-19 testing procedures and protocols."

    https://www.a10talk.com/duquesne-a-10-opener-postponed-again/:

"Duquesne will have to wait a little longer to start Atlantic 10 play. The Dukes’ Dec. 30 game versus Saint Louis has been postponed 'due to positive COVID-19 results within the Saint Louis University men’s basketball program,' the team announced via twitter Wednesday. It is the second time that their A10 opener has been postponed, after the Dec. 19 game at Richmond was called off. The positive results are from tests administered on Monday, Dec. 28.

Duquesne last played Wednesday, Dec. 2 against UNC Greensboro in the Wade Houston Tipoff Classic, winning 81-68. The Dukes are 1-1 on the season and will open conference play on Saturday, Jan. 2 at George Washington at 12:30 p.m."

    Games affected by SLU's pause:
    12/30 SLU vs Duquesne
    1/2 SLU vs UMass
    1/6 SLU at La Salle

    Next games after that are:
    1/9 SLU at Saint Joseph's 1/15
    SLU vs Davidson

Time will tell how this all plays out.

I do think it's COVID fatigue as much as the floundering program, but this thread and the "coronavirus impact" thread have really highlighted my new level of apathy. For the last 25 years, if I saw other teams not being able to field a team, and pausing practices, I would have had an internal dilemma where I would have been happy it helped Mason's chances (as long as we stayed healthy) and then felt guilty that I'm sort of rooting against the health of other 18-24 year old kids.

This covid crap is new, but most of us have experienced this with injuries, etc... Being like "Oh man, this is an important game against VCU, and with Maynor breaking both of his arms in a freak playstation accident, we could end up back in the NCAA tournament!" And then realize we're excited about a poor kid breaking his arms.

Now, I'm like, "I hope this doesn't help us win games we should have lost, and give our coach yet another extension to "see if things start to improve when he doesn't have so much working against him."

GW and Duquesne will play back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday in Washington D.C., per release. Dukes haven't played since early December.

    https://gwsports.com/news/2020/12/3...quesne-on-back-to-back-days-this-weekend.aspx:

"The GW men's basketball game scheduled for Wednesday, February 24 at Duquesne has been changed and will now be played this Sunday, January 3, at 2 p.m. at GW. This change was made to accommodate additional Atlantic 10 Conference rescheduling efforts following the postponement of Duquesne's game at Saint Louis due to a pause in SLU's team activities.

GW and Duquesne will now play on back-to-back days this weekend at the Smith Center. Saturday's tip is at 12:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Network. Sunday's tip is at 2 p.m. on ESPN+."

Maybe it isn't a typo. Mason is so woke that maybe we have decided to get some wins by having our whole men's team identify as women. This way, we stay in the A10 and win conference titles.

Anyone had any luck getting Ticketmaster up for the remaining games? Won’t load for me.

I haven't tried but any issues with Ticketmaster that are Mason specific you might want to reach out to James Meyer/Ticket office on to see if they can give a hand. I know there has been some issues.
