Louisville, Maryland, Miami, etc. have also offered. Up against some big names, I like it!

Interesting to see how hard the staff is actually recruiting for 2018 considering we have no scholarships to offer.

They are recruiting hard like they always do. Gotta be prepared because unless we're different than almost every other program in America, somebody will transfer after this season.

I def agree but what's the pitch they are giving them. So we don't have a scholarship yet.....but we might.....

It's not something people like to talk about, but I'm pretty sure if there's a 2018 recruit who wants to come to Mason and the staff believes he can make the team better, finding a scholarship won't be a problem.

Aren't scholarships typically one-year renewable deals?

Yes. But I don't think many coaches sell them that way.

The perception is that if you take care of business in the classroom, don't get in legal trouble and don't cause headaches for coaches/teammates, your scholarship is gonna get renewed.

While I don't think our staff would push a kid out who was doing all the right stuff and desperately wanted to stay regardless of playing time, it can be a rude awakening for players (and parents) to find that some programs consider them disposable.

No, I don't know anything. But, I wouldn't be surprised if scholarship(s) become available.

I'd be surprised if we don't have a transfer or two.

We have two coming in and three graduating. Is Paulsen trying to trim how many he carries? Seems fine considering how little our other end of the bench gets in, but also leaves room for a grad transfer without anyone needing to go.

One of the 3 graduating (Myles Tate) is a D-II transfer walk-on. So, Coach Paulsen does not currently have a scholarship for a graduate transfer.

"Wood is averaging 10.2 points per game while quarterbacking the No. 2 Cadets’ (22-6, 14-4 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) balanced offense. He told the Post that he currently has scholarship offers from Iowa, Penn State, Old Dominion, Rice, Towson, Manhattan and St. Joseph’s. He has also received “heavy interest” from Purdue, Providence, Cincinnati and George Mason, and plans to shave this list after his AAU season with Team Takeover."

    Magical height!!!

Ok in all seriousness, he looks like hes built like a tank if hes 6'7 and 220 already. I suspect he would be more of a center than an athletic wing, but I haven't watched anything on him. If he can be a bruising forward that might be a good thing. Of course this is all contingent on a scholarship being available.

    Isn't Mason out of scholarships?
