Indeed! When you compare what we did (and did it before the Butlers & VCUs even dreamed it was possible!) with this year's Elite Eight with nothing but P5 teams left, you realize once again how very, very special those two weeks were.

... after beating VCU in Fairfax, Richmond, the A10 tournament semifinals, and the Sweet 16.

Page 66 of the American Airlines' 'American Way' in-flight magazine:
"Here are our three favorite March Madness Cinderella stories of the past decade:
    George Mason Patriots (2006)
    Made it to: Final Four
Beat: Michigan State, North Carolina, Wichita State, Connecticut

The first great Cinderella run of the modern (post '80s) era, George Mason shocked the titans of college basketball before losing to eventual champion Florida."

Davidson (2008) and Butler (2010) were the other two listed.

The Junkies are celebrating 20 yrs on the air today and Coach L recorded some comments that aired this morning just prior to John Feinstein's regular Friday interview. Feinstein then took the first 4 min to re-tell the Billy Packer story from St Elmo's in Indy- Packer and Nantz got to St Elmos and Feinstein told them the team was downstairs. Nantz went down, but Packer sat down with Feinstein.
Feinstein: Billy, don't you want to go down and apologize to Jim {Coach L}?
Packer: I have nothing to apologize for.

ESPN 980 tonight just after 6pm- Steve, Andy and Knoche were talking about how big tonight's Nats game is. They read an email/tweet that a listener sent in that this would be the biggest win in DC since we went to the Final Four. All three chimed in how amazing it was and Knoche reminded them that we didn't just beat UConn, but UNC and Michigan St. Heck, now Wichita St even is a big time program...

Dodgers have now gone ahead 4-1 and are still batting in the 7th. It's gonna take a big Nats (Cubs-like) rally to get that "biggest win" since our UConn upset.

Well, that didn't happen. Can't believe I stayed up until 1AM and I'm not even a Nats fan. And the Caps lost in a shoot out. Ughhh. Anyway looks like we remain the big event winner for DC for the past 10 yrs.

Just left the Austin airport and I saw two people wearing Mason gear there.

Are you sure you didn't just leave your kids at the Austin airport?

They're going to have to play on that sorry field? DC United just had their home opener on Saturday and the field looked like someone had just used a garden tiller on the grass.

So how are they connected to Mason? Are we trying to recruit from France?

Mason just has the best soccer field in the area. A lot of international teams practice there.

I think we might also be close to finalizing a deal with D.C. United to build a stadium and practice facility on campus.

We were mentioned in this morning SC Standing O segment for the equipment manager's cross court lost contact find. They did mention that we went on to win the game.
